How it works
Everything you need to read the pool — no golf or betting jargon required.
One rule trips everyone up at first: you're scored by where your golfers finish, not how many strokes they shoot — and the lowest total wins. Once that clicks, the rest is easy.
The draft
Ten of us each draft 4 golfersbefore each major. It's a snake draft — the pick order reverses every round, so whoever picks last in round one picks first in round two. You keep those 4 golfers for that tournament, and there's a fresh draft for each of the four majors.
How scoring works
Every golfer gets one number: their finish positionon the tournament leaderboard. Winning is 1. Tied for 8th is 8. Your team's score is your 3 best golfers' finishes added together — your worst golfer is dropped. The lowest total wins the pool.
Ties share the number: two golfers tied for 8th each count as 8 (not 8 and 9), exactly like the real leaderboard.
The cut
Halfway through (after 2 of the 4 rounds), the bottom of the field is sent home. At the U.S. Open the top 60 and ties play the weekend. A golfer who misses the cut — or withdraws (WD) or is disqualified (DQ) — is scored as if they tied for last among the players who made the cut. So a missed cut is a bad (high) number, but not a bottomless one.
The money
Each major pays $320 for 1st and $40 for 2nd, plus a $40 bonus to whoever drafted the tournament champion. If nobody drafted the winner, that bonus splits evenly between 1st and 2nd. The Seasonpage adds everyone's winnings across all four majors — that's the number that ultimately decides the year.
The Odds and Forecast pages
Oddsshows each of your golfers' live chances — to win, and to finish Top 5, Top 10, or Top 20 — pulled straight from real betting-market prices. Higher % means more likely.
Forecastanswers “who's going to win the pool?” We play the tournament out thousands of times using those odds and count how often each team comes out on top. Win the pool is your chance to finish 1st; Make top 2 is your chance to finish in the money.
